Also a lot of items have been removed from my store as mentioned HERE.

More items are now listed as "Available until stocks are exhausted" . As I either don't sell enough to make it worthwhile bothering, or just have no plans to make anymore (mostly lack of time to keep with with everything, so have to reduce the items regardless) .

Items which have "vanished" from my store, are gone forever ( in case I forgot to mention something being discontinued) .

I have put into stock 3 SONY MPF920 drives...

https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/atari/store2/#0037

However I am no longer modifying the internal drive jumper ( I just never get around to it, and people can just do that themselves anyway). This allows me just simply put them onto stock "as is".

I'm running low on these drives, will keep several back for my own usage, but these will likely not be restocked once my own stash of them is gone.

The ALPS refurb drives I was doing will likely go out of stock once they are exhausted as well. They just do not sell fast enough to warrant sourcing drives and refurbishing them.

I've also finally put into stock some contact grease, this has been out of stock for a long time.

2020 batch (kits) are starting to appear back in stock now.

These ones have been made slightly longer to miss the floppy drive as people keep putting them in sockets rather than soldering them in!

Re: CURRENT STOCK STATUS

Thought I would post a PSU update here in case people missed it in my blog the past couple weeks https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... 960#p43116

All the SMT is soldered and 5V &12V outputs have been tested. I am taking them all off to have the transformers, caps, fuse holders soldered on (my hands are hurting still from all the SMT stuff so I just cant solder anymore for a couple weeks :( )

I only have 36 transformers here, I have 77 PCB's built. I am taking them to the guy in the morning to finish off and soak test them (hes taken 2 days off work to do this stuff) . So I hope I will start getting them back in a few days time. I hope the transformers will come next week, so I can drop them off at the same time (***).

I am also not doing a separate 120/240V version anymore. People will have to configure the primary themselves now , I will do a better post on this when I get chance. I wrote about this a while ago, but it will allow me to keep a larger stock of a single time. Currently I was doing like 10x 240V PSUs and 5x 120V PSUs, but one would always go out of stock before the other, then people would want to change the primary over to the other voltage anyway. So 1 stock code will available for 120V & 240V types from now on.

I may start taking pre-orders for the PSUs next week, so people can be at least in the queue for one.

(***) I will also be taking him about 40 STE DUALTOS boards to assemble. These are the ones illustrated a couple posts up. I may also start taking pre-orders for these also soon.

I will also be working on the STFM DUALTOS boards in a couple weeks time. I am not going to fit the UBE chip anymore, because people are always running into issues of a buggy / failed reset circuit. So @ube is re-designing the UBE circuit for a different PCB which will replace the reset circuit totally, but still allow DUALTOS switching (and in fact it is being update to also control the boosters on/off switch).

I'm not sure yet if I will produce MEGA stuff again. They hardly ever sell.

I'll get some new MEGA DULATOS PCBs made. Though I'm not doing a full kit for them again. I will do a page with the parts list so people can buy the stuff themselves from farnell/mouser/exxos store etc.

The problem with a lot of these kits is I have to stock things like sockets multiple times because of different projects which use them. What I want to do is just sell things like sockets as a totally separate item. This way, if one particular kit does not sell very often, the sockets being a separate item will still sell with other kits. This way I am not stocking the same thing multiple times and have funds tied up in stock which may never sell.

Overall it will save me a lot of time not having to put together full kits all the time, this just takes up so much of my time it is unbelievable. A lot of the time I only have some of the parts for the kits and it takes a long time to get around to finishing those kits off. It can literally take several months because I have just have so much to do  But the least if the bare PCB is in stock, and if something like the sockets are not, people can just simply by the sockets themselves elsewhere and it takes the pressure off me somewhat in having to collect all the parts and make the kits fully.

Sounds like a good compromise - keep the customers happy (well, at least a bit happier than if you didn't carry the unique bits at all) while reducing your stock overhead & time expended!
