But for me, instead of FLASH memory, I used a regular 27c400, it worked fine. And yet the problem for me appeared only on one rev 2B disc on other 2B and 1D.1 FLASH memory works fine

I suspect that in some circumstances an exception is thrown while Disable() has been set.. Thus you never get your ide interface back. I actually think this might be at least partly software related.

Maybe grab the older version of cpu speed and try some non-sensical speeds and see what happens. i.e 75 to 83mhz etc.
Sorry for the late response. Off visiting family during the recent school holiday.

Firmware 1000

With the older version of cpuspeed :-

cpuspeed speed 63
Switches to 62.50 Mhz Immediate system freeze.

cpuspeed speed 75
Switches to 75Mhz but locks system after a few seconds.

with the alpha firmware version of cpuspeed

cpuspeed speed 63
Switches to 62.50 Mhz System continues to run but IDE has locked.

cpuspeed speed 75
Immediate system freeze

Firmware 999, with the older version of cpuspeed

System run fine at 62.50 Mhz
System freezes after a few seconds at 75Mhz

Just wanted to say thank you to Stephen Leary for the Alpha R1 update to the TF1260 - everything is running sweet now the chipmem is twice the speed - No slow downs in James Pond 2/3 or Spellbound Dizzy anymore!

Also wanted to report that my MC68060 Rev 1 with FPU and MMU overclock up to 66.66Mhz nicely and I get 52mips - really pleased! Runs at about 47 degrees with passive heat sink and fan turned off (33 with fan on)

Hope that’s helpful to someone - thanks again Steve! Great job!!!

Another couple of observations having been playing a few games via WHDLoad on the TF1260/1000 firmware on Rev1 060 @ 50Mhz in case they are useful - compared to running on Blizzard 1230 @ 50Mhz:

Super Street Fighter 2 AGA - Intro animation very slow, quite a lot of slowdown in game when jumping around;
Elite 2.0 - Very slow launch sequence/map navigation graphics, sound runs at normal speed.

Thats absolutely not observed here. Its one of my standard test cases. Thing runs at full FPS.

You are right, Elite does run very slow. Try adding the NOCACHE tooltype to the game icon, it seems to speed it up a bit.

WHDLoad slave authors may be able to relocate the game code to fast memory, so it's a good idea to bring these up on their bug tracker. http://mantis.whdload.de/main_page.php

Couple of other examples of games that runs very slowly on 060:
Jurassic Park AGA http://whdload.de/games/JurassicPark.html
Chaos Engine A1200 slave. (The CD32 slave by JOTD relocates to fastmem and is silky smooth in comparison). http://www.whdload.de/games/ChaosEngine.html

I see the same exact behavior as described here with an XC68050RC50A mask 1G65V (which I believe makes it a rev5)... So in other words the TF1260 is functional at 50MHz only with Alpha but worked fine at 62.5MHz with Beta... Is this to be expected?

Didn't the XC have some bugs in it or something ? Or was that the 060 CPU.. I forget..
