68060 Revision Number?

Post by Lamaman1971 »

Hi folks, looking at the top of a Motorola 68060 - how do you identify the revision number of the chip?

They are all re-printed now. So whatever is printed on them is meaningless unless you have a known genuine one ?

Yeah but ironically I deleted those pages off the old server as its not valid anymore because all the chips are reprinted these days. So if you go on those figures, you may think you have a REV6, but you probably don't.

By documenting fakes, and showing how to better identify real 68060's from their external markings we inadvertently showed the people doing the fakes how to do a better job?

Stick with a seller who has the best possible reputation (again, no guarantees), but one such seller is here--so far, a number of Amiga users have bought genuine rev. 6 CPUs from him:

Exactly this. Its unfortunate but there is no way to know until they show up.
