A US Falcon 030 received as is with some factory workarounds and two extensions (one CPU and one 4MB memory).

Re: Falcon 030 CA431332-001 Rev G/E with extensions
BTW: The CPU extension is the Falcon version of the AT Speed C16 (called Falcon Speed), a card that turns the Falcon into an 286 PC capable of running DOS and Windows.
Re: Falcon 030 CA431332-001 Rev G/E with extensions
Strange how R221 has been removed & it looks like it is bridged, but accidentally bridged...
Re: Falcon 030 CA431332-001 Rev G/E with extensions
@czietz , I will definitively give a try to install Windows 3.1. I have a driver of Falcon Speed on a floppy disk.
@steve, it is a messy work on the soldering! I replaced the PSU yesterday and I am finally able to boot the machine but for that I have to push the reset button after power on. Also, I have some noise coming from the speakers like hissing. It is time to apply the clock patch I guess?
Attached a picture of the poor work done on the back:

I've seen a lot if falcons with those big wonky caps on the bottom.

Re: Falcon 030 CA431332-001 Rev G/E with extensions
I installed the clock buffer patch.
But unfortunately, does not solve the problem of a mandatory reset after power on. Each time I power on, I obtain random glitches or a black screen. Also still a scratching noise on the speakers.

Have you removed the PC emulator board, inserted the link ?
Recapped the PSU ?
Those RAM boards are prone to failure.. are you sure its known good ?
Replaced the caps in the reset circuit ?

Re: Falcon 030 CA431332-001 Rev G/E with extensions
Hi Exxos,
I removed the PC emulator board and put the jumper at the right place.
I changed the PSU by the one available at your store. https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... f=9&t=1245
I changed the RAM board by the one available at your store with 14 MB. #0086
I guess I will recap the motherboard and see how it goes.

Re: Falcon 030 CA431332-001 Rev G/E with extensions
I would try a diagnostic cartridge. I don't think recapping the board will do anything.
