If you are trying to register with the forum.. (email problems)

Post by exxos »

DO NOT USE MICROSOFT EMAIL ACCOUNTS, EG, HOTMAIL, OUTLOOK,LIVE ETC. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE THE EMAILS!

Even if you have your own domain name it could still be using a Microsoft related service or Cloudflare!

UPDATE:
2024 - Gmail / GoogleMail now also seem to be sporadically having emails "going missing".

A lot of email services are also blocking Stripe emails which are not sent by my server. So if your checking out on store items and receive neither email, but see a successful checkout page from the store, then your email provider is blocking BOTH my server and Stripe. I cannot re-send any emails out again after checkout. You have been warned!

Also this issue effects notifications or topic subscriptions which you may be subscribed to. Please change your email addresses and ditch Microsoft accounts.

In relation to the Microsoft domains, this also applies to people who are currently registered with Hotmail etc. I keep getting email bounces for private messages and topic subscriptions etc.

So if you have a Microsoft email address (hotmail, outlook etc) then please change it.

Currently @Robson @Avinitlarge are bouncing.

Unfortunately, messages from [185.52.2.172] weren't sent. Please contact
your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block
list (S3150). You can also refer your provider to
http://mail.live.com/mail/troubleshooting.aspx#errors.

Don't know what the problem with this one is either.

It sounds like a similar issue here:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/out ... 693d66e438

Essentially Microsoft are blocking whole subnets, when it discovers an issue with one IP; the link in the bottom of the forum suggests contacting Microsoft to allow them to process your mails from a specific IP (e.g.putting 185.52.2.172 on their whitelist)

Yep. I have done that several times already. But within a day or two I am back on the list again. So there is really no point trying to get off their block list

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Online Services Technical Support. This email is regarding the ticket number 1539965287, which was opened about your delisting request for IP 185.52.2.172

Please ensure that you have resolved any issues generating malicious or abusive traffic from the IP in question and utilize the portal found at https://sender.office.com/ to complete the process of IP removal.

Then please wait for a 1-2-hour delay before this change propagates through our entire system. After waiting for 1-2 hour try to send an email again.

If you continue to receive Non-Delivery Receipts (NDRs), or "bounce messages," that indicate that the IP address is still blocked by our spam filtering system, please forward one of the most recent and complete error messages to us and we will investigate further.

Thank you again for contacting Microsoft Online Services' technical support and for allowing us to serve you.

Sincerely,
Stephanie Agochukwu

Apologies if you got a ton of bounces from my attempt to sign-up today. Turns out this also affects business domains where Microsoft 365 is the email provider, even if the domain admin explicitly allows incoming messages from your IP. I've never seen a case where the messages don't even make it to the admin-level spam filter, but here we are! Ridiculous on Microsoft's part.

Sorry you had issues. No need to apologise :) Though I guess you can see my frustration will all of this.

Same problem with pcbway. They even white listed my email / IP and made no odds. Microsoft outright deny my IP.

I think the problems might have started when spammers started using one of my old email / domains as a bounce to address. I'm getting blacklisted because of that. Nothing to do with me or my server.

Microsoft really should not have the authority to take such action. It's caused me to lose touch with some of my suppliers as I can't email them anymore. I'm am working to ditch said domain but things take time. But this can't just be me Microsoft are causing troubles for. They have taken control away from the users and forced their will upon them , again .

I've even had issues crossing Google mail over to microsoft accounts as well. Those emails simply vanish. Not even a bounce. So godknows where all this will end. Seems like Microsoft want to force the world to use their services and say goodbye to everyone else.

That freemail is weird in many ways but prefer to use on forums etc. Anyway, I changed it now.
