Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.

Well, I have plenty of spare 27C512's, I just haven't read the thread properly :)

I've now figured out some of the basic stuff and the machine is built with all of the default software for this machine from riscos.com including universal !boot, and I've figured out how to save the desktop so I get the same each boot.

Well done Jon! :cheers:

I'm glad it went to a good home and is being looked after.

Although I had to look twice at the photo...you seem to have the same monitor on top of Mega ST setup that I do. :lol:

You'll be trying StarFighter3000 before you know it.

Or comparing games from other platforms, like Twin Worlds.

The monitor is an LCD, an NEC 1990Fxp, great monitor and I also have an NEC 1970NX which is equally good.

Trust me, it will be well looked after :)

I'm sure I will!!

BTW, you suggested Wizzo for IDE and I have the files, and I'm told it can be softloaded, do you know how to do this by any chance?

I have two 1990Fxp's (one has what I believe to be a shot PSU where a postman decided it wasn't his job to be careful and broke it). :(

I always thought that the 1970NX had better/more adjustment options (like a v-size at least!)

EDIT: Games? If I had of got this machine working, the first game to have run would have been David Braben's original masterpiece, Elite! :)

The Archie version is meant to be among the very best.
