Had to redo the SD card partitions. Been trying games out today and copying new things over.

Thankfully Everything is backed up, and backed up again on a seperate drive.

I found a cool hexagon style graphics game similar to Virus but a lot easier to control and have completely forgotten what it was called and how I found it.

Had one more thing to do before saving and it lost a partition before I got to back things up.

Isnt the first partiton only acessable on the PC ? I don't really remember much about that driver..

But if you not done the DMA fixes, then you can expect problems on the ST anyway. If you keep pressing ESC like 100 times it may show up some files eventually.

All partitions created are visible using this method:

This is a great guide for someone such as myself with extremely limited technical knoweledge.

Looking at this as a non-technical person makes my brain solidify like concrete.

It means nothing to me (Ah Vienna).

I'll try to find out if I have the latest driver.

As @Steve said I have the mandatory fixes. Not getting any corruption @exxos and it's possible things are going Pear shaped at the PC end. There have been times that I've put the SD card into the PC and that was the end. PC acted like the card was blank.

When this happens I have to delete the volume of 14 partitions in disk manager before I can start again with the card.

Why do these things happen when you're about to chill, making you question your life?

I also have PPs driver and under Windows you should be able to see all partitions.

BUT because your Windows machine already has its own drives they will get shunted up along the list.

To get around this partition confusion, I usually add a text file to the root of each drive to identify which partition it is. For example on C: I would put a file called C_DRIVE.TXT, on D: it would be D_DRIVE.TXT etc.

That way when I do plug into a Windows machine I can instantly tell which partition is which.

I name them on windows also, so on my music SD card I call the system drive (P1) ATARI MAIN.

I've just stopped bothering with my games SD card as I'm using 12 of the partitions. Only using 2 on my music SD card so a lot easier to redo when it goes wrong.

It's Windows 10 @exxos using SD cards.

Works beautifully apart from every so often when this happens.

Easus is good, but for SD cards Win32DiskImager is my weapon of choice :)

Simple to use, one shot image of the whole card.
