Re: Raven. A homemade Atari-like computer

I think there is a law somewhere stating that all hardware must be able to run Doom.
Thus...

Bottlenecked by access speed to graphics card. But it's expected.

Re: Raven. A homemade Atari-like computer

What are the dual MFPs for, just out of interest? One is wired up pretty much like on the ST. Not exactly the same of course but for the most part quite close. The other one takes care of ISA interrupts. It also takes care of Midi in lieu of an ACIA - though I'm not 100% sure if it'll stay like tha...

Re: Raven. A homemade Atari-like computer

I especially like the MicroATX form factor, and the ATX power connector (SFX or TFX power supply maybe? I want to see how small this can get!)! Will this respond to the power button as a push button on/off? Or is there a separate on/off state switch that this will use? What happens with the reset b...

Re: Raven. A homemade Atari-like computer

Bravo! Is that a 68060 EC you're running in there? Makes sense at this stage of the development. :) Thanks! I cheaped out and use an LC variant. An MMU is required and is configured by the bios to help the machine be more Atari-like. It shouldn't be impossible to get MiNT memory protection playing ...

Re: Raven. A homemade Atari-like computer

After much faffing about. Finally. FreeMiNT is running! It's really quite bizarre seeing that same desktop I use on the ST and Vampire, but running on something I've built myself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu3MV3whXpE Here was the first boot to the default stuff, before I replaced with my N.AE...

Re: Raven. A homemade Atari-like computer

One of my favourite bit of Atari kit appears to be working, so that's the parallel port tested :)

It works when Atari is client and server runs on the Mac. But it's very unstable if I do the opposite and I'm not sure why yet.

Re: Raven. A homemade Atari-like computer

Quick test with Copyback enabled - unsurprisingly it makes an enormous difference! EmuTOS is assuming Writethrough so I would need to do some work there before I can have it enabled by default, but it's cool to see where it will eventually end up. Copyback enabled: 221 Copyback disabled: 113 coremar...

Re: Raven. A homemade Atari-like computer

Faking those ACIA registers made Gembench happy :) The Gembench I could find in my mess only had the stfm as default reference so I think I'll have to copy the stuff from my ST which has the complete package. EmuTOS built-in driver: gb_emutos_et4000.jpg EmuTOS built-in driver + NVDI: gb_emutos_nvdi_...

Re: Raven. A homemade Atari-like computer

The GEM window test is the only one that actually runs. All others will start but immediately get stuck and never finish. Ie; the blitting test draws the box at its first location but it never moves. I can see the CPU is executing code from TT-RAM but I'm not sure what. @exxos , would you know what...
