System requirements Sound Chip Synth is a real-time software-based monophonic analogue-style synthesizer that uses the built-in FM sound chip inside the ST to generate cool-sounding analogue bleeps and squidges. Created using a range of synthesis functions (including layering up to three square wave oscillators, a four-stage envelope generator, amplitude and LFO modulation), these sounds can be played in real-time using either the built-in keyboard or a MIDI controller, or saved as samples to use in other programs.
In issue 22 of Basique, Sound Chip Synth was reviewed... "Remarkably, you can play Sound Chip Synth monophonically from an external MIDI keyboard, complete with real-time controllers... the final results, when exported as an AVR file, are professional CD quality."
